Easy Air Fryer Crunch Chicken
How about some extremely crispy & juicy chicken that is EXTREMELY quick and easy to make?? Sounds good right?? I can assure it IS GOOD!! If you throw chicken with skin into the air fryer it will get some level of crispy on its own- but when you douse is in flour it really ups the crunch factor dramatically.
All you will need for this recipe:
Some Poultry Sheers , Chicken thighs with its bone & skin still attached. Any kind of starch- Cornstarch, Tapioca Starch, Arrowroot Starch or Potato Starch. Paprika, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Oregano & Salt. Plus an Air fryer of course.
You may wonder why I called for bone in chicken- but then tell you to cut it out. Its for one reason WE NEED THE SKIN. Not very often have I seen chicken thighs at the store that are boneless and have all their skin still intact.
As long as you have some good poultry sheers removing the bone takes all of 10-15 seconds. All you do is carefully cut the chicken away around the bone with the goal of keeping the chicken in one piece.
After that I like to place the chicken on a cutting board and give it a quick pound to get it nice and even. Why? Chicken loses all its juiciness when it overcooks. Overcooked chicken is the result of thicker areas needing to be in the oven longer. So this process not only speeds up the cooking time but it also results in perfectly cooked tender & juicy chicken.
