Gf + Df Easy Caramel Apple Pie Bars
Apple Pie.. without the hassle of pie crust!! This is a serious shortcut recipe. Instead of pie crust for this recipe you’ll just mix up a batter that you layer on the bottom and plop on top! The taste to me is like a cross between pie crust and a biscuit- its buttery ,tender and not overly sweet.
Then..the caramel apple filling is really good! Why isn’t caramel the standard filling for apple pie? Why didn’t I think of the idea until this recipe?
This recipe makes a large quantity- its ideal to bring to a gathering. If you want to make it for a family of 6 and under I would just cut the recipe in half and use a 7x7 or 8x8 pan!
Can you use other cup for cup flour blends? I think that should work just fine. Just be sure to use the gram measurements provided.
Keep in mind that all purpose flour mixes are not the same as cup for cup and will not work the same.
If you are not gluten free you can also just use regular wheat based all purpose flour.
