Ingredients
Honeybun Dough
- 3/4 packed cups of Coconut Flour
- 1/2 cup Potato Starch
- 1/3 cup Tapioca Starch
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
- 1 Tsp Xanthan or Guar Gum
- 2 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 Cup Organic Cane Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Shortening (Regular or the brand Spectrum Organic)
- 2 Large Eggs
- 4 Tbsp Honey
Honeybun Glaze
- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
- 1 Tbsp Water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer combine all of the honey bun dough dry ingredients.
- Mix in the wet ingredients until you have a dough that holds together well and is slightly sticky.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll out into a snake shape and then roll them up into the shape of a honey bun. Note: If your dough sticks to the counter during this process put a little oil on your hands and or counter top to prevent sticking. Using an oiled bench scraper tool can gently remove the dough from the counter as well.
- Place the 4 honey buns on your baking sheet- evenly spaced apart. Bake 18-19 minutes until lightly golden.
- While baking whisk together the powdered sugar and water to make the glaze. Remove honey buns from the oven and brush them with the glaze while still warm.
